5 Fandom Friday: Planets I Would Like to Visit

OMG! IT'S 5 FANDOM FRIDAY!

This week's prompt comes to us from Heather at Just Geeking By!

I love outer space. Ever since I was a little kid, I dreamed of learning about the massive universe and was fascinated by science fiction movies, especially the different creatures and wild planets! So this prompt was so much fun to think about.

In no particular order, here are 5 planets (real or otherwise) that I would love to visit!

Here's some mood music for you while you read this post!

5. Saturn

Yes, I chose a real planet to start us off. I've always been fascinated with Saturn. Maybe it was the rings, or just the iconic shape that plasters itself in my head when I think of "planets". I once did a report on Saturn and spent the entire time thinking I was so lucky because I got the best planet! (and also I wasn't the poor kid who got Uranus!)

4. Rosalina's Observatory (Super Mario Galaxy)

While not a "planet" per se, I've always loved this game and the music. The observatory is kind of like a planet since it's where Rosalina and the Lumas live. Also, the music is great to listen to and the whole feel is so magical and beautiful.

3. Transsexual (Rocky Horror)

Not a planet

I love the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is my all-time favorite movie. I would love to visit the planet that birthed out Frank-N-Furter and after reading Revenge of the Old Queen, I need more of this planet in my life!

2. Gazorpazorp (Rick and Morty)

A female-run planet that is super mega girly? Yes, please!! Plus, the fact the the entire main cast in this episode was voiced by the women of Farscape only made me love this planet more.

1. Gallifrey (Doctor Who)

Obviously, I would have liked to visit this planet in it's prime, and not destroyed. How could I resist going to the place where the universe's greatest hero was born?

What planets would you like to visit? Let's chat about it in the comments, or tweet me @raineedayze!

Captain's Log #4: Long Time, No Blog

Hello there, peaches!

In case you haven't noticed, I've been a little MIA the past week. Work was incredibly busy and when I wasn't there, I was catching up around the house. At long last, we are finally decorating!! Here's what we've gotten up so far.

Our Bar

Shelfie!

Although I've been running behind on emails, social media, and the blog, I had to be here for our weekly Captain's Log! Let's do this!

Sex and The City (HBO GO). I unabashedly love this show. I've been watching it for years but now that I finally have HBO GO, I decided to rewatch the series from the beginning. I've read the book the show is based on and in the first season, it's very true to the novel style. However, the first season has always been one of my least favorites. All first seasons are still finding the character styles and writing direction so it's always a bit different than the rest of the show, but I love having this gem on my TV while I clean and work online.

We'll Never Have Paris (Starz). I hear about this movie on the Nerdist podcast a few months ago. Simon Helberg (Howard from The Big Bang Theory) creates and stars in this movie, based on the time he accidentally left his then-girlfriend, now-wife. I loved this movie and it tugged at my little heart. Funny, romantic, and a little slow to start, you'll be glad you watched it!

Pac-Man Party (2DS). Jonathan surprised me with a bunch of games for my 2DS and I immediately got hooked on this game. It's very simple, much like Mario Party meets Monopoly. Story mode has Pacman (the player) against the ghosts to collect a certain number of cookies by going through the bard, building castles, and winning minigames. It sounds a little strange, but it's a pretty fun way to pass the time.

Life is Strange (Xbox). Life is Strange just became free on Xbox Live, so of course I had to get it. I've been wanting to play it for awhile so I'm super behind but I love this game! It's a game that plays based on your choices, so gameplay is vastly different each time. I just started the game the other day, so I'm still getting the feel for it. However, it's very promising and I can't wait to see where it goes.

Pocket Mortys (Android and iOS). This game plays like Pokemon but instead of catching Pokemon, you catch variations of Morty from different universes in order to battle the Council of Ricks. As a huge fan of  Rick and Morty, this game is funny and addicting. Jonathan and I have been playing it in lieu of Pokemon Go recently and I adore it!

Silver Crystal for Sailor V (Android). I actually found out about this game from Desiree's blog and immediately downloaded it. It's absolutely adorable and I find myself pulling out my phone every time I have a free moment just to collect for gems. I unlocked Sailor Jupiter right before I broke my phone but the data never saved so I have to unlock my characters again (*tears*), however, due to my obsession with it, I'm very close to 10,000 gems again. This game is only available through their website or their FB page, so check it out!

What are you guys up to this week? Let's chat!

Captain's Log #3: Back from Vacation!

Yo there, guys!

As you may know, I just got back from a family vacation on Sunday. It was absolutely amazing and I got to meet our new family members. My aunt got married a few months ago and this is the first time some of us met her wife and the first time we met her wife's family.

I don't have a ton of photos, since I had a broken phone the whole time. Luckily, I just got a new phone thanks to the loving, kind, and patient Jonathan.

Check out our sunburns tans.

I got to try a bunch of new things this weekend like paddleboating and canoeing. I went canoeing with Jonathan and then, while he took a nap, I decided to go with my mom. Now, I know on the internet I look as put together as can be....

...but docking a canoe is hard work! My mother and I paddled it to the dock and she attempted to get off. All of a sudden, the boat just flips over, taking me and her to the water. It was hilarious and the highlight of my trip.

Our view from the cabin

We stayed in a beautiful cabin and they had teepees surrounding the neighboring campsite.

As you can tell, because of all the excitement, this Captain's Log is a little different than most. I haven't gotten to read or watch much but here's what I got planned for this week.

Rick and Morty, Season 2 (Hulu). I absolutely adore Rick and Morty, but since we don't have cable, we rewatched the first season about 30 times. Finally, on a whim, we decided to go on Hulu, and lo and behold, season two was finally available! We have about 3 more episodes left but I'm loving it. I still really enjoy the first season a little bit more because this season is a bit morbid. However, I'm eager to see where it leaves off.

Wolf Boy by Evan Kuhlman (re-read). I bought this book about a year ago at a convention. I'm pretty sure the guy who sold it to me was just trying to get rid of some junk but this book was an amazing find. It is about a family dealing with the loss of one of their kids. It mainly follows the younger brother of the deceased but it does show how each member and acquaintance deals with death. Plus, it has a comic intermixed with the text, written by one of the characters. It's a great read and will make you feel all the feels.

Crush Crush (Steam). This free-to-play game is a very strange Japanese dating simulator. I love these games because they are over the top ridiculous but super cute and this game is no exception. While the examples are highly fan-servicey, it's still a silly game to play and a great way to pass the time. You play a character who accidentally ruins girls lives and then try to date them. It's ridiculous (you actually crush a homeless catgirl's cardboard house) but it's a crazy time-waster. If you are looking for something to pass the time with and for a laugh, check this game out.

I know this Captain's Log is a little different than usual, but hopefully, we'll be back to normal next week! Let me know what you're up to in the comments!
